A two-alarm fire at the Caivan Ridge construction site in Barrhaven was declared under control at 10:11 a.m
Ottawa Fire Services said in a release that five units were affected but about 15 units were saved by what the department said was a “quick response and fast attack by crews.”

Firefighters were wr=ere called to the site earlier Thursday after a house under construction caught fire and flames spread to a second home under construction.
Crews had to tackle a hazard at the fire scene, which is south of Cambrian Road and east of Highway 416, after the valves of two large propane tanks let go, OFS tweeted at about 9:45 a.m.
Firefighters were cooling the tanks, the fire department said.
A fire investigator is at the scene.
