Two local men face multiple charges after Brockville police and the OPP seized a large number of stolen power tools, as well as firearms and meth.
City police began investigating the tools theft involving a storage facility in Brockville on Sunday.
Officers carried out a search warrant at a residence in the Township of Augusta on Tuesday. The Ontario Provincial Police’s Leeds, Grenville and Lanark community street crime unit and emergency response team helped at the scene, Brockville police noted Wednesday.
The value of the stolen items exceeds $50,000.
The two accused, ages 22 and 28, were charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, theft over $5,000, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and possession of a controlled substance. They were given court dates and released on strict conditions, according to city police.
